I definitely recommend training with Bart Hightower whether you are a novice like me ( first time handling a gun) or have some experience and want to build on that experience and sharpen your skills. Before training with Bart, I was extremely nervous and apprehensive- I didn’t grow up with guns in the home and didn’t see much need for one. Bart talked to me about my fears and educated me about gun safety, how to properly hold , load, dismantle. I learned about the different categories of guns and the importance of keeping my hands off of the trigger until ready to fire. By the end of the training, I felt empowered to load, handle, shoot, and safely dismantle a gun.

My initial exposure to firearms is what many people would consider standard. I had visited gun ranges several times before and very quickly learned what were considered the “basics” of gun ownership and safety before trying my hand at actually utilizing a firearm. I had thought my initial experience was informative enough for my eventual purchase and continued use of firearms in the future. That was until I actually took the time to invest in drill training and a full firearm safety course from Bart Ellis Hightower and his Firearms Intelligence Training program, that I realized how much information I had yet to learn. Not only did the experience round out my knowledge about firearms but very clearly, properly, and concisely addressed and outlined, firearm usage, firearm variety, situational awareness and most importantly provided a more detail-oriented introduction to firearms safety. In all honesty, Bart’s program seemed to be far more concise and clear than the various courses I’ve had the opportunity to take part in at most gun ranges. Bart as an instructor was very straightforward, hands on, and took the time to ensure that any and every question I had about firearms was answered. If you have the time to invest, Bart’s Firearms Intelligence Training has proven to be an absolutely necessary and absolutely crucial experience in my journey as an gun owner and I absolutely would recommend it to anyone who already owns a firearm or would like an introduction to firearm safety.

I am 34yrs old and had never shot a gun in my life before I came to Bart’s training. In fact, formerly, said that I hated guns. My hate became fear and I didn’t even like to be in the same room with firearms. Over time my mindset evolved.m, especially in today’s climate. Finally, I opened up to learning how to use safely use firearms because they are powerful tools. Why not have all the tools in my tool belt, right? So, with all that being said, I signed up for a class! I was expecting to go to a range learn the basic safety and shoot at a target. It was SO MUCH MORE! I not only learned gun safety but I learned all the ins and outs of the parts, cleaning, how to position my hands, which direction to pick up and lay down and so much more! We not only shot at targets, we practiced drills to improve reaction time and even shot a short course! It was so much fun and all my fears are gone. What I’m afraid of now is the can of worms I opened with this new skill of mine! Let the fun and training begin! Thank you Bart Hightower, and Frieda Ramirez for the referring me to him!

As a novice shooter, I wanted to get some training on weapons handling and gun safety. I had previously purchased a gun for home protection but was very uncomfortable handling it. Enter Barr. I was connected to him through a friend who also wanted some training so we scheduled a session. Bart’s class is designed for all experience levels - from total beginners to those more experienced who want refresher training. He thoroughly covers multiple subjects from how to properly align the gun sight, identify and aim at the targets, how to properly hold/handle the weapons and all safety practices and measures. He even provides multiple types of guns so you can get a feel for what types you may be most comfortable with - in case you are looking to purchase one. After 4+ hours of training with Bart I left there feeling infinitely more comfortable and certain that if I have to draw my weapon for home protection I can do it with confidence. Since my first training, I’ve had multiple friends ask me for a referral to my instructor and several have already contacted him for training. I even went back with more of my girlfriends for additional training. I still have more to learn of course, but Bart set a solid foundation for me going forward! I recommend him for anyone looking for expert training with a knowledgeable instructor. You’ll leave there feeling like it was the best money you ever invested in your safety!

My wife and I had been looking into buying a gun for home defense, but we were not sure what gun would be best for both of us to use. We reached out to Bart for some training and we were blown away. Bart brought a variety of guns to the range, from small 22’s up to 357 mag revolvers. He explained the pros and cons of each gun from handling, loading and shooting. At the end of the day we were able to try so many styles of guns allowing us to find the best gun for our use. Bart’s training was extremely informative, relaxing and an overall pleasurable experience. Highly recommended!!!

First I must start by saying how happy I am in finding the range training that Bart Hightower provides! When scheduling a session with him and finding out the cost to the session I was concerned if I would get my money’s worth. Upon my arrival I was amazed at the lay out of the choice of weapons and the sound instruction provided. The first 1 hour the the course was solely about gun safety, gun control, and his high expectations of everyone completing his course safely. We had an amazing time while learning a lot about the different weapons and safe operation of the various hand guns he supplied for use! I highly recommend his training courses and I look forward the upcoming trainings!

I did a basic handgun course with Bart. He was very patience, knowledgeable, and clear with his instructions. Bart's style of teaching feels more like you're just hanging out with your friends. The session was very fun and relaxed. There were several different types of handguns you can choose to shoot from. I personally like that because it exposed me to different types of handguns and caliber sized. The drills Bart introduced as part of the course was very fun and it was my first time exposed to it. Maybe one of these days I'll get into more drills or compete if I have time. Before taking this course, I had only shot rifles and had a few self taught experience with shooting handguns, but was never successful at hitting the target. Bart gave me some very useful pointers and tips, which helped a lot and I was able to hit targets. I was really happy because I can enjoy shooting and hitting the targets instead of getting frustrated. Gun safety and learning how to clear a jammed gun is all part of the course and the experience of shooting a gun. I have a lot more confidence in handling a handgun after this course. I would recommend Bart to anyone wanting to learn how to safely handle hanguns. Thanks Bart!

I came into training on the early side of intermediate with little outdoor or open range experience, no holster / drawing experience and doing a lot more shooting than training. I would soon find out the difference*. I initially wanted to hone in on and receive validation for my existing basic skills with progression towards CCW qualifications. I have received an Awakening to SO much more! If you put in the effort/ time, you will develop all of the skills and knowledge you seek but also get everything appropriate for you that this experienced instructor has in his tool chest. Bart is a direct approach trainer with undisputed focus on safety and meeting you where you're at. He is patient and even funny at times but most importantly a wealth of knowledge with a passion for helping others to achieve their training goals and more. I will continue to train with him at every opportunity.

I didn't know where to start. I asked for leads. I got many. But I got just as many "recommendations" and advise. Just as many as the people I asked. I didn't take any as they were not followed up with any evidence & seemed too general and not specific to me & my needs. I found The Brown Shooters group. I joined to see what it was all about. I noticed this guy posting videos of shooting drills & training. I watched the videos for a couple of months. Then I contacted him, Bart. The cost seemed high to me. But he asked what did I need & want to get out of the training! He was going to tailor the training based on my needs? Unheard-of! Well he did and it was well worth it. He educated me on gun mechanics & safety always. He made me feel confident in him until he relayed that confidence to me. He taught me that I could shoot anything and become proficient with patience & practice. And he made it fun & interesting enough that I forgot to be afraid. I believe I got more than I paid for. So much so I re-booked within a week and told all my friends. Thank you Bart!

I absolutely have no experience with firearms. I was overjoyed to hear about this class and excited to gain more experience in this area. The class was fun and informative. I was able to learn in a comfortable, safe non-competitive environment. I also enjoyed the drills and how the instructor took the time to explain thoroughly what to do as well as answer questions. I would definitely refer this class to others.

I had my first firearms training class in a 1on 1 with Bart Ellis Hightower. It was all I'd hoped it to be! Bart is a no nonsense kind of trainer, which I find fitting for myself in anything I take seriously. My expectations were met from the start. Bart had several firearms to choose from in case I didn't have my own. He also had the shooting bay arranged with all necessary targets and tables. The two-hour training was packed with questions and in depth answers. However, safety was paramount and professionally monitored at all times. Bart's training style is direct and hands on, he was at my side through the drills, all the while allowing me to relax and to be comfortable. Throughout the entire two-hour training course I learned how to enhance my grip, grip pressure and how to acquire my sight picture much faster. There is so much more to say regarding my experience and the knowledge gained.
I most definitely will be signing up for continued one-on-one training from Bart. If you are looking for intense yet informative, fun training, then give Bart a look and book today!

I walked in a little uneasy and not very comfortable handling a firearm along with very little knowledge of how to properly hold a firearm. Bart went over all of the firearms, advising what each pistol was built for and what type of recoil to expect, He made me feel, comfortable to where I walked out confident with a new knowledge and ability to use a firearm properly!! I went with my mother and daughter and was extremely proud of my daughter in how well she listened and was able to execute exactly what Bart instructed her to do. Also, being that it was just the three of us, Bart was able to give each of us individual attention. I would definitely recommend Bart to any and everyone who is interested in learning the proper way to handle firearms.
I’ll be back soon.
